Join the Wood School Site Council (SSC)

The school site council is an important advisory committee that meets monthly to develop, maintain and evaluate school plans and budgets.  Parents and staff, elected by their peers, meet with Principal Harris to discuss school programs and improvements.  If you'd like to join, please ask in the office for your name to be added to the SSC ballot.  Questions?  Email Blanche Kim at  blanche@woodmiddlepta.com

WMS To Present at AUSD Board Meeting

Wood families are encouraged to attend the AUSD Board meeting next Tuesday, February 12, at 6:30 pm to hear students and Ms Harris update the Board on Wood’s programs and achievements. Two staff members will also be recognized for their service to our students and school. Come show your school spirit!

Help Needed for 7th Grade Renaissance Day

The 7th graders will be participating in Renaissance Day on Friday, February 15th.  All 7th graders will get to experience various Renaissance-themed activities throughout the day. As a thank you to our Renaissance instructors, we would like to provide breakfast and lunch.  Please sign-up to lend a hand, here.  

Parents are welcome to stop by and check out the fun during the day!

AUSD Programs

  • Family Enrichment Series: families are invited to Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a nationally acclaimed documentary about kids and screen time. The film follows parents and their teens as they struggle to strike a balance between time spent on video games, social media, academics and internet addiction. Screenagers will be shown at Paden School, February 7, 7:00-8:30 pm. Here’s the flier, or register here (space is limited).
  • Parent University is for middle school parents and guardians. Your adolescent is growing up in this digital age, and our parenting style has to adjust and calibrate. Tweens/Teens need our support to navigate their social- emotional life in middle school AND also have the critical academic conversations for their future.  View our general program outline Join us at our Spring session, February 13, 6:00-8:30 pm at Lincoln Middle School. By registering with Remind, your student can get Community Service Opportunity information and alerts by text.
